In January I had the honour of being asked to be a speaker at the first ever Cultural Champions Symposium held by the Royal Ballet and Opera.
Cultural Champions is the RBO’s teacher training programme that develops, empowers and supports middle leaders in primary schools. Demonstrating ways of improving the creative and cultural curriculum, enabling professional development, peer-to-peer networking and enriching teaching strategies. Over the last 10 years RBO has worked with over 1000 Cultural Champions from across the country.
This Symposium was the first opportunity to bring different cohorts together, focusing on the theme of “The Importance of Connection in Developing a Creating School,” through workshops and panel discussions.
I delivered a lecture workshop looking at how understanding some fundamental anatomy principles can help us unlock our self-expression in our singing.
Using singing as a means for self-expression is becoming more and more important as we seek more ways to protect our mental health in a changing world.
What a joy to work with these excellent teachers and find routes to unlocking their self-expression!
